Wizard of Oz
In the wizard of oz, they use alof of allegory in the movie. In the movie they relate the lion to being a coward. The scarecrow wants a brain and the tin man wants a heart in the movie. Dorothy represents an everyday girl in Kansas. The yellow brick road represents dreams and going on an adventure.
Assignment #5
A person that comes to my mind when I think of a renaissance man is my Uncle Bill. He was a very smart, knowledgable man. He could make very smart and wise decisions about worldly issues. He could tell you about anything that you would want to know. Many people look up to him for advice on issues that they know he could help them with. He is a very respectable person who will go out of their way to help people. He is the type of person if you need help figuring out an answer to a question that you have for a problem, he will help you figure it out.
Ghosts
In the english renaissance time, they believed that if you saw a ghost it was for a specific reason and purpose. They thought that ghost were coming to warn you of something bad that was going to happen. I have heard that some cementeries in Jasper, like the cementery behind Salem Baptist Church, are haunted. I don’t really believe in ghosts cause I have never seen one.
Everyday Heroes
It has to do with all of the everyday heroes including doctors, firefighters, policemen, emts, and soldiers that risk their lives everyday trying to save everyone else. They do their jobs selflessly and courageous.
Heroes
The heroes in the video are Shrek and Fiona. What makes them heroes is that they are courageous and that they help the people around them get out of trouble. Shrek rescues Fiona from the dragon and the fire. The characteristics that are common with all heroes is that they are brave, selfless, courageous, and giving of theirselves. They are willing to sacrifice theirselves for other people. What makes Beowulf a hero is that he is selfless and saves the people from Grendel.
I don’t know how I feel about using this blog because I usually don’t express myself to other people about issues. This a first time thing for me using this blog. I sort of look forward to because I will get to see what other people think.
